3 Potential Landing Spots for Odell Beckham, Jr.

Odell Beckham, Jr. will become a free agent in the 2022 offseason after winning Super Bowl LVI with the Los Angeles Rams. He joined the Rams last season after a tumultuous stint with the Cleveland Browns came to an end with his release from the team. He chose Los Angeles from a list of suitors, which paid off immediately as Robert Woods went down with injury, making him the number two receiver in short order. He ended with 305 yards and five touchdowns in eight games in a Rams uniform.

Beckham did tear his ACL in the Super Bowl, which could possibly lessen the number of teams that are immediately interested in him, as his recovery will be long. But he clearly is not the diminished receiver that NFL fans saw in Cleveland. If he is schemed correctly, he can still be a dynamic playmaker, barring the injury changing his career trajectory.

Here are three potential landing spots for Odell Beckham, Jr.

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams and OBJ just hoisted the Lombardi Trophy together, so why not stay? Beckham seems to enjoy LA and the excitement and culture it brings, and they are set up for another deep run. Plus, when Woods returns to the field, this team will be even more dangerous if he decides to remain there.

There is a chance he may have to take less than market value, or that other key pieces would have to leave to keep him there. But Stafford, Kupp and Ramsey are not going anywhere, and there may be no real juice to Aaron Donald and Sean McVay hanging it up. He has a ring now, so he may want to spread his wings, but if he wants another, then there may be no better place than Los Angeles.

Las Vegas Raiders

If Beckham wants to move from one exciting city to another, then Vegas may be a viable option for him. They just hired former Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who has six Super Bowl rings and is ready to try his hand at head coaching duties again. They also have a quarterback in Derek Carr, who like Stafford this year, is willing to throw it deep.

Beckham can absolutely rack up some yards in this offense, and McDaniels can absolutely scheme him open with regularity. He would be a number one or 1-A option in the passing game also, which is something he appreciates. This team needs a reset after one of the most tumultuous seasons in NFL history, and signing a free agent like Beckham would go a long way in creating a new identity.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs fell short of a third-straight Super Bowl appearance, and very badly want to get back before Mahomes’ insane contract balloons his cap hit to a staggering number. Kansas City has a night-unstoppable offense already, and grabbing Beckham could all but ensure another Super Bowl run if he is used correctly.

Joining the Chiefs would absolutely decrease his targets, but maybe winning quells that woe for him. It may not be the best long-term option as far as his finances go, but this is the place to go if he wants to have a legitimate shot for another ring for years to come. Yes, the Rams are good too, but they just got over the hump and needed some luck in both the NFC Championship and the Super Bowl to win. The Chiefs do not need that kind of luck, just the play of Patrick Mahomes.
