100 Thieves continue to rebuild their VALORANT list and release another former in-game leader, Nick “nitr0” Cannella, via transfer from the organization on Tuesday.
Rumor has it that Nitr0 will leave VALORANT just a year after joining to return to Counter-Strike. The former IGL for Team Liquid’s Counter-Strike team has changed titles during the COVID-19 pandemic. Counter-Strike in North America was on a downward trend due to the lack of teams in the region to compete in tournaments. Because of this, many high-profile players from the NA Counter-Strike scene have switched to VALORANT.
As reported by + 1pv, nitr0 is expected to return to Counter-Strike and return to his former organization, Team Liquid. He played for Team Liquid shortly after turning pro in 2015. He has a long history with the organization so it wouldn’t be surprising if he returned to them. He will also reunite with former teammate Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski when he returns to TL. The two played together in Team Liquid for five years before nitr0 switched games.
100 Thieves revised roster
On December 6th, 100 Thieves fired the in-game leader from nitr0, Josh “Steel” Nissan, from the team. That move came after Steel was benched and nitr0 rose to be the main in-game leader for the list. Shortly after he was fired by 100 Thieves, Steel announced that he would be Play for T1 in 2022.
Thank you 100T for the opportunity to compete under such a great organization. More about my future soon! https://t.co/GLIjoPGIb4

“Thank you 100T for the opportunity to compete under such a great organization,” said nitr0 on Twitter. “Soon more about my future!”
Unlike Steel, at the time of this announcement, nitr0 has not made any official announcements as to where it will be going. However, 100 Thieves announced that nitr0, like Steel, had been sacked from the team by transfer. This is different from a full layoff as nitr0 was still under contract with 100 Thieves before making his decision to move.
